Barcelona has taken a tough stance on the transfer rumors of Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong. Earlier this summer transfer, there were reports that de Jong would leave Barcelona. English club Manchester United has been in the transfer market for the midfielder since the beginning. But as negotiations progress between the two clubs, de Jong’s decisions are changing.
Reports coming out say that this annoys Barcelona. Despite being a great player, the financial crisis is forcing Barcelona to let go of the Dutchman. Club sources have previously stated that they are interested in keeping De Jong in the team, but that his high wages are a liability for Barca in this case.
Manchester United have reportedly offered €85 million for the Dutch midfielder. However, some Spanish media reports that De Jong is not interested in leaving Barca and wants to stay at the club. With this, Barcelona, who brought new players to the team that expected De Jong’s exit, is cut off.
Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie and Raphinha were brought into the Barcelona squad, but due to Financial Fair Play restrictions none of them could be registered with the team.
